Assam Congress chief Bhupen Borah hit back at Sarma, saying him a liar...

Digital Desk: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress party for its resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict and compared the party to Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters in Jorhat, Sarma said that the Congress should have condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas before discussing Palestine. "But in their resolution, they only talked about Palestine, just like Pakistan," he added.

The Chief Minister poked fun at the Congress by questioning whether the party "wanted to form a government in India or Pakistan."

Days after the party's top decision-making body, the Congress Working Committee (CWC), expressed its "dismay and anguish" over the conflict, Sarma replied. The right of the Palestinian people to "land (and) self-government, and to live with dignity and respect" was emphasized in the resolution.

Assam Congress chief Bhupen Borah hit back at Sarma, saying him a "liar".

Bora further stated, “The Israeli govt has not yet confirmed whether Hamas has killed children or they have not. The first statement of a message released by Jairam Ramesh, says- 'The Indian National Congress condemns the brutal attacks on the people of Israel.'"

"The Chief Minister is lying as usual, just like his boss (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi. Himanta Biswa Sarma has developed the habit of lying," Borah added.

Hundreds of people have died as a result of the multiple attacks launched by Hamas from Gaza on Israel since Saturday. To avenge the attacks by Hamas, Israel has started a huge counter-offensive in Gaza.

More than 1,300 individuals, including 222 soldiers, were killed in Israel on the sixth day, said the Israeli military. According to local sources, the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian organization has claimed the lives of over 1,400 individuals in the Gaza Strip, which is governed by Hamas.
