Aizawl: India’s Hockey player Lalremsiami from Mizoram will be appointed as Chief coach under the Sports and Youth Services department, says reports.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga took to Twitter and made the announcement.

“Proud to announce that Govt. of Mizoram has approved the appointment of Ms. Lalremsiami, National Hockey Player and the only Olympian from #Mizoram at the Tokyo Olympic 2020 to the post of Chief Coach (Hockey) Group-A post under Sports & Youth Services Department. @Lalremsiami30.” the CM wrote.

Following her commendable performance in Tokyo Olympics, the Mizoram government announced a government job and a plot of land in her hometown.

21-year-old, Lalremsiami from Mizoram has created history by becoming the first female player from Mizoram to qualify in the Tokyo Olympics. Moreover, she also became the Olympian from the state after a gap of 25 years.
