Rohit Sharma and his team have undoubtedly been the best team in the league stage...

Digital Desk: The only unbeaten team in the ongoing 2023 World Cup, hosts India, will face the Netherlands in their last league stage match today (Sunday) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rohit Sharma and his team have undoubtedly been the best team in the league stage, which concludes tomorrow, winning eight of eight matches and totalling 16 points.

Meanwhile, the Dutch have fallen to the bottom of the standings after failing to build on their amazing success over South Africa. A win over India moves the Netherlands to eighth place in the table, ensuring qualification for the Champions Trophy.

For India, all eyes will be on Shubman Gill, whose efforts in this World Cup have flown under the radar. He was supposed to light up the World Cup stage, but an outbreak of dengue fever kept him from being fully fit at the start of the competition. He has only two half-centuries in his six innings.

The team's management will be counting on him to produce significant points ahead of their crucial semi-final match against New Zealand. Also, R Ashwin may be given a chance instead of Kuldeep Yadav, who may be rested for the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya's substitute, Prasidh Krishna, may be given a chance.

Bas de Leede has taken 14 wickets for the Netherlands during the 2018 World Cup. However, he has the lowest economy (7.10) of his team's pacers. He has underperformed in the bottom middle order. He'll be trying to put up a game-winning performance to help his team qualify for the Champions Trophy.

Both teams have only played two One-Day Internationals (ODIs), with India winning both.

Both meetings have occurred during ODI World Cups (2003, 2011), and India has a 2-0 edge.
