The exact reason behind his drastic decision is not yet known, and the police have initiated a post-mortem examination...

Digital Desk: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has been shaken by another tragic incident, as a third-year B.Tech Computer Science student reportedly took his own life on Monday morning.

The deceased, identified as Bimlesh Kumar was a resident of Uttar Pradesh who was discovered dead in his hostel room at Brahmaputra Hostel.

The exact reason behind his drastic decision is not yet known, and the police have initiated a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

This incident is particularly distressing as it follows a recent suicide at the institute. On August 9, an M.Tech student named Saumya, also from Uttar Pradesh, was found deceased in her room at Disang Hostel.

The recurrence of such tragic events highlights the urgent need for mental health support and intervention within academic institutions.
