Barpeta: A big news for Assam's handicraftsman as plates made from barks of betel nut tree locally known as "Dhokuna" have captured the international market informed Barpeta DC, Tej Prasad Bhusal. 

Plates made from betel nut trees are exported regularly to countries like England, Austria, Japan.

Moreover, Sarthebari's brass metal utensils and Barpeta's 'Kazi Nemu', along with bamboo products, has already captured the UK market. 

Therefore, to capture the foreign market by exporting agricultural and handicraft products, Barpeta district administration and Industrial corporation organized Export Convention at officer's club on Saturday.  

In a meeting chaired by District Deputy Commissioner Tej Prasad Bhusal on the occasion of the export summit, District Industry and Trade Centre General Manager Ritumani Pasani mentioned various possibilities and facilities of export trade.

The meeting also mentioned the experiences of several entrepreneurs involved in the trade in the country's export.
