Digital Desk: The Income Tax Department conducted a number of raids on properties owned by Basant Khetan, the proprietor of Assam's renowned Kaziranga University. The raids were conducted in three important cities: Guwahati, Joypur, and Jorhat, and they encompassed his residence, office, and associated firm locations.

The activities were carried out by a ten-person team from the Income Tax Department, who looked into financial records and other papers at the targeted locations. Notably, it was discovered that Basant Khetan was in Italy at the time of the raid.
