In a statement released by the ICC, Shah expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council."

Digital Desk: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is set to become the next chairman of the ICC in December after being named the sole candidate for the prestigious role, the global cricket governing body announced on Tuesday. The 35-year-old Shah will take over from current chairman Greg Barclay, who chose not to seek a third consecutive two-year term.

In a statement released by the ICC, Shah expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council."

Shah will step down from his position as BCCI Secretary, a role he has held since 2019, during the Board’s Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled for either late next month or October.

Currently, Shah also leads the ICC’s influential Finance and Commercial Affairs (F&CA) sub-committee, a position he has held since 2022.
