Washington: US Vice President Kamala Harris, in its record-breaking series, broke another one by becoming the first woman with presidential power in the US on Friday.

The power was transferred to Harris by President Joe Biden on a temporary basis while Biden was under anaesthesia for a routine colonoscopy for one hour and 25 minutes.

Reportedly, Harris is the first US female, first Black and first South Asian president to gain presidential power, although it is for the time being.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki informed that Harris worked from her office in the West Wing while Biden was under anaesthesia. Moreover, Biden spoke to Harris and the White House Chief of Staff.

Meanwhile, Biden’s Physician, Kevin O’Connor, said, “The colonoscopy found a “benign-appear polyp” that was easily removed. The president is now fit to successfully execute the duties of the president.”

As per CNN, Biden, who turns 79 on Saturday, arrived Friday morning at Walter Reed Medical Center to undergo his first routine annual physical since taking office.
