Chennai: Ahead of her movie release ‘Thalaivii’, Kangana Ranaut was seen paying tribute to the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa at her memorial in Chennai.

Kangana is playing the role of Jayalalithaa in the movie and is scheduled to release in Theatres on September 10.

The movie is directed by AL Vijay and also stars Arvind Swami as MGR.

The movie was earlier scheduled to release in April 2021, but it was postponed due to the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.

Kangana recently took social media platforms to express her disappointment as theatres are not agreeing to release Thalaivii.

As per reports, three leading multiplex chains have decided not to release the movie over the time gap of Theatrical and the Digital release of the movie.

The Tanu Weds Manu actor took her Instagram stories to urge multiplex owners to support each other during these testing times.
