Digital Desk: The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, famous for its one-horned rhinoceros, officially opened to visitors on Sunday for the 2023–2024 season in the presence of the state's forest minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary.

Several opening ceremonies were held in addition to the official opening of the tourist season, including ones for river tourism at the Bhomoraguri beat office, ecologically conscious tourism led by women at Mihimukh, the Kaziranga cycling from the Kohora Convention Centre, and the Jeep safari.


Earlier, in May 2023, the divisional forest officer of the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division issued orders for the closure of Elephant Safari and search Jeep Safari in the Kaziranga National Park in Assam for the 2022–2023 tourist season.

The Assam Forest Department has announced that the national park's Elephant Safari will be closed from May 1, 2023, while the Jeep Safari will be closed from May 16, 2023.
