Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested Anand Giri in the case of Mahant Narendra Giri’s death in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj and a special investigation team has been formed to probe the case.

Mahant Narendra Giri, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, was found dead with a handwritten suicide note mentioning his will and the names of people who have been allegedly troubling him. The body of Narendra Giri was recovered from his room at the Baghambari Math in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Monday Evening.

Anand Giri, who was the disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri, has denied his role in the case and said that it is all a ‘huge conspiracy’ against him and that Narendra Giri was ‘tortured over money’ and murdered.
