Digital Desk: A man in Gohana, Haryana, fainted after receiving a property tax bill of Rs 1.3 lakh for his 100-square-yard home.

The exorbitant amount shocked the individual, who has been identified as Sanjay. His neighbours claimed that when he heard about the bill, he lost consciousness.

Sanjay added that his financial situation is not stable and that his wife is currently having trouble convincing Gohana Nagar Parishad officials to correct the charge.

Nevertheless, after being published on July 25, the bill has not yet been modified.

Sanjay claimed that he struggles to make ends meet for his family and that interacting with the authorities has made matters worse.

The Nagar Parishad officials responded by making it clear that they are not aware of such a situation at this time. They admitted there might have been a clerical error, and assured that they will rectify the issue once it is brought to their attention.
Property tax bills typically need to be paid one month after they are issued.
