Digital Desk: The Manipur police arrested five active members of the militant outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Noyon) from different places in Imphal East and Imphal West districts. These militants were involved in various actions about extortion and intimidation, police said.

The arrested individuals were identified as Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai's Khoisnam Sanajaoba Singh (27), Chingmeirong Maning Leikai's Khoinaijam Robertson Singh (24), Soibam Leikai's Soubam Rohit Singh (23), Langol Game Village, Zone-II's Leishangthem Naobi Singh (33), and Lamlai Mayai Leikai's Khaidem Nongpoknganba Meitei (25).

The authorities seized 2 two-wheelers, a loaded pistol, a pistol holder, and mobile phones.

The authorities are conducting intense and frequent search operations in vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts of the state. Strict security measures are taken up in various locations to combat threats and extortion activities, ensuring public safety.
