The situation worsened when two gas cylinders inside the house exploded, making it impossible for locals to control the fire.

Digital Desk: Today, a devastating fire destroyed the houses of Kipendra Das and his relatives near Kenduguri Buddha Mandir in Guwahati’s Narengi area. Eye-witnesses claim that an unidentified person started the fire on purpose in the nearby jungle . The combination of powerful winds intensified the fire as it rapidly destroyed Das’s house.

The fire situation deteriorated upon two gas cylinders inside the house exploded, making it impossible for local residents to control the fire. The  locals of the area made continuous attempts to save the house, but  the entire house burned down to ashes. The fire department was alerted too late, however, they could not reach the site on time due to challenging hilly terrain. 

However, the heroic efforts of local residents who stepped forward to prevent and stopped the fire from reaching nearby houses and they received widespread appreciation. The authorities are investigating this incident and residents are urging stricter measures to prevent such tragedies in the futur.
