Digital Desk: A police constable from Assam who was sent to cover the Mizoram poll has been missing since November 5. He was assigned to Middle School II in Ngopa Village, Saitual District, Mizoram for election duty.

According to sources, Assam police constable number 10, identified as Sabin Nath, is a member of the 9th Battalion of the Assam Police. The Joint NGOS and Village Council have begun their search operation for the missing police personnel. It is reported that he had been missing since Monday morning, November 5th, at around 6:30 a.m.

Local leaders claim that ninety-two police officers from the 9th Battalion Assam Police arrived at Ngopa village for election duty after being divided into different camps. Missing police Sabin Nath was posted in Middle School II.

According to the locals, he appeared to have a drinking problem since he had asked a few people where he could buy liquor before vanishing. He was reportedly wearing a police uniform before going missing.

In order to trace the missing police personnel, information has been sent to all police stations and outposts-old in nearby communities as well as the Ngopa area.
