Digital Desk: On 30 January 2022, ahead of the Saraswati Puja, Assam Health and Family Welfare  Minister Keshab Mahanta announced that there will be no separate SOP issued for the same. The minister urged people to celebrate the festival with proper COVID appropriate behavior such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing in order to contain the spread of COVID-19. Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta on Sunday informed that the state government will not issue any new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the celebration of Saraswati Puja. Also Read: First-ever cargo train stationed in Manipur, 75 years after independence While interacting with media persons at Bokakhat, the minister said the Saraswati Puja will have to be celebrated by following the COVID protocols issued earlier. ''The new SOP will be issued on February 1 but it will not include any new guidelines for Saraswati Puja celebrations,'' he added. Notably, the state has witnessed a slight dip in COVID-19 cases. On Saturday, the state recorded 2.294 new cases of COVID-19, taking the active caseload of 28,788. With this, the positivity rate stood at 6.41 percent.
