During the next T20I series, Pakistani selectors have picked several young players, including Ihsanullah, Zaman Khan, and Saim Ayub.

Digital Desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president Najam Sethi has stated that Babar Azam will continue to lead the cricket team till he decides to step down.

It should be remembered that when Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked as captain of the national team, 28-year-old Babar Azam was named captain of the Pakistan squad in all three forms.
However, Babar will not play in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The series is scheduled to start on March 25 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Shadab Khan has been named as the stand-in skipper in Babar’s absence.

"There's no threat. Our experienced captain Babar will continue to lead our national team until he decides for himself whether he wants to step down as captain of any one format, all three formats, or all three. He will make the final decision, Sethi reportedly said.

During the next T20I series, Pakistani selectors have picked several young players, including Ihsanullah, Zaman Khan, and Saim Ayub. The majority of these players were chosen based on their excellent performance in the currently running Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023.

As our leading star, Babar has my utmost regard. I'm thrilled that he agreed with our decision to field a youthful team against Afghanistan, Sethi added.

It is to be noted that Babar is also the captain of the PSL franchise-leading Peshawar Zalmi.
