She continued, "I assure the people of this magnificent country that I will work hard every day to realise our dream of India."

Digital Desk: On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India's independence, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata spoke about her "hope" for the country. She proclaimed her desire to create an India free from poverty and illiteracy.

"India is my dream country! Mamata Banerjee wrote on Twitter, "For the people, I want to establish a country where no one goes hungry, where no woman feels unsafe, where every child sees the light of education, where all are treated equally, where no oppressive forces divide the people and tranquilly define the day."

She continued, "I assure the people of this magnificent country that I will work hard every day to realise our dream of India."

In an effort to create what she refers to as the "unified Opposition," Mamata Banerjee has been highly active in recent times in the national political sphere. Additionally, she is attempting to enter states other than West Bengal. This year, she ran for office in Goa, but she was unsuccessful because her party, the Trinamool Congress, received no votes. She is now focused on the Tripura elections that will take place the following year.

Before the most recent election for President, she attempted to bring the opposition together and forge an agreement on a candidate who would enjoy universal support. She ultimately chose to run TMC candidate Yashwant Sinha against Droupadi Murmu, who is now in office.
