Digital Desk: Indian boxing star Lovlina Borgohain began her Paris Olympics 2024 journey with a decisive victory in the round of 16, defeating Hofstad Sunniva in the women's 75kg category on Wednesday, July 31.

The 26-year-old was granted a direct entry into the pre-quarter-finals of the 33rd Paris Games. Borgohain showcased her exceptional punching skills throughout the bout against her Norwegian opponent, securing a comfortable 5-0 win. It is worth noting that while Lovlina had previously beaten Sunniva in the semi-finals of the 2023 World Championships, the Norwegian had later triumphed over the Indian boxer in the Asian Games and Czechia Grand Prix.
