An aviation security team along with a bomb disposal squad are on-site to conduct a thorough probe of the aircraft...

Digital Desk: An IndiGo flight heading to Varanasi from Delhi received a "specific bomb threaton Tuesday, as per the airline’s confirmation.

In response to the threat, the flight crew swiftly initiated emergency procedures, evacuating all passengers through the emergency exits. The aircraft was then relocated to an isolation bay for thorough inspection, leaving behind the scheduled departure time of 5:35 am.

In an official statement, IndiGo stated, "All necessary protocols were followed, and the aircraft was taken to a remote bay as per guidelines by airport security agencies. All passengers were safely evacuated via the emergency exits. The flight is currently undergoing inspection. Post completion of all security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area."

Subsequent investigations revealed a distressing discovery—a tissue paper with the word 'bombinscribed on it was found in the lavatory of the aircraft. Although this prompted immediate security measures and a meticulous inspection, it was ultimately deemed a hoax.

Meanwhile, an aviation security team along with a bomb disposal squad are on-site to conduct a thorough probe of the aircraft.

This incident occurs against the backdrop of a series of bomb threat emails targeting various establishments, including government offices, educational institutions, hospitals, and airports. Despite the heightened tensions, authorities have consistently found these threats to be false alarms.
