New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the US in September and meet up with President Joe Biden for the first time after he took over as The President.

PM Modi is expected to visit New York and Washington DC between September 22 and 27.
Previously, the two leaders have met virtually on three different occasions- the climate change summit in April, the Quad Summit in March, and the G-7 summit in June this year.

The will be PM’s first in-person meeting with Biden.

Earlier, PM Modi was expected to visit UK for the G-7 Summit but the trip was canceled due to the second wave of Covid-19 across India.

PM Modi’s last visit to the United States was before the Covid-19 pandemic in September 2019, when the Howdy Modi event was addressed by President Donald Trump.

The meeting with Biden comes at a pivotal time when the government formation of the Taliban is underway in Afghanistan.

According to reports, PM Modi is expected to meet the top officials of the Biden administration besides the President.
