Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a press meet on Sunday, said that the electricity bills of Tea workers and BPL cardholders will be collected in installments. The announcement comes at a time when many from the economically weaker classes have been complaining of inflated power bills being dispatched to their residences by the state power distributor.

CM SaOver 1.95 lakh tea garden workers have not given their power bills, added Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The press-meet that also saw the attendance of state power minister Bimal Bora and other APDCL officials apart from Assam CM announced that the impending results will be declared soon and appointments would be made immediately after that. 

CM Sarma further added that the government will arrange for the payment of government department bills on the 1st of every month.
