The deadline to withdraw your candidacy is July 2. On July 18, the election will take place, and the results will be announced on July 21.

Digital Desk: On the first day of filing nominations for the presidential election, eleven contenders filed paperwork, with one nomination being rejected due to a lack of legal documents, sources stated on Wednesday.

The procedure of submitting presidential nominations began on Wednesday with the publication of notification. Nominations are accepted through June 29, with the papers being reviewed on June 30.

The deadline to withdraw your candidacy is July 2. On July 18, the election will take place, and the results will be announced on July 21.

A person named Lalu Prasad Yadav from Saran in Bihar was among those who filed nominations, according to authorities.

According to reports, one nomination was rejected because it did not include a certified copy of the candidate's registration in the electoral roll of the parliamentary constituency where the candidate is registered to vote.

They claimed that 11 candidates submitted their candidacy papers to the Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, who serves as the presidential election's returning officer. Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu were among those who submitted nominations.

It may be mentioned that President Ram Nath Kovind's term ends on July 24.
