Oil firms shocked customers by increasing commercial gas cylinder prices by Rs 209, raising rates for 19 kg LPG...

Digital Desk: Bad news hit consumers on the first day of  October month with oil firms drastically hiking the rates. The cost of a commercial petrol cylinder has increased by Rs 209 as of October 1, 2023.

In Delhi, a 19-kilogramme LPG cylinder now costs Rs 1,731.50. Although not officially confirmed, this info has been provided through various sources.

Notably, the government lowered domestic gas cylinder costs by Rs 200 barely a month ago. Domestic LPG rates, meanwhile, remained stable as of October 1. A 14.20 kg domestic petrol cylinder costs Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 929 in Kolkata, Rs 902 in Mumbai and Rs 918.50 in Chennai.

In contrast, in September 2023, oil firms reduced the price of both home and commercial gas cylinders, with the 19 kg cylinder decreasing to Rs 1,522 in Delhi.

The recent upsurge in commercial gas cylinder pricing may result in higher eating costs at hotel restaurants, as these facilities often use commercial gas cylinders for cooking.
