The Kokrajhar Jail Superintendent has been suspended for negligence in duty.

Digital Desk: The inmate Hazrat Ali who was serving life imprisonment under the POCSO Act has managed to flee from  Kokrajhar District Jail. Taking advantage of the the jail cleaning procedure on 16th March he managed to escape from prison.

The person responsible for a serious POCSO Act crime is a resident of  No. 1 Daukhanagar Chirang district, and was imprisoned for a heinous crime under the POCSO Act. The prisoner's sudden escape has raised serious concerns about the security lapses in the jail. 

Following the incident, Ravirama Engtik, the Kokrajhar Jail Superintendent was suspended as he showed negligence during his time of duty.

Currently, Law enforcement teams are conducting an active manhunt to track down the escaped prisoner. Meanwhile, an internal investigation has been launched to determine how the escape took place and whether any security loopholes were exploited.
