Digital Desk: In the India vs. New Zealand World Cup 2023 semi-final on Wednesday, Virat Kohli smashed his 50th century. Now holding the record for most hundreds in men's ODIs, Kohli has surpassed the great Sachin Tendulkar. In the stands, his wife Anusksha Sharma showered him with kisses when he achieved this feat.


After working Kiwi bowler Lockie Ferguson square leg for a double, taking his score from 98 to 100, Kohli achieved the milestone. The great Tendulkar himself was present when the occasion was reached by the Virat with the perfect sense of occasion, Kohli, at the Wankhede Stadium.

Since November 15 was also the last day Tendulkar batted for India in an international event—a Test match against the West Indies at this venue—the magnitude of the accomplishment was magnified.
