Digital Desk: Renowned singer Heera Das, wife of veteran singer, lyricist, and music composer JP Das, passed away at the age of 73. She breathed her last at 3.30 am on March 29 at Apollo Hospital, Guwahati due to a brain stroke.
She had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past four days, her family said. She was suffering from Alzheimer's disease as well.
Remembering his late wife, JP Das said, "I fell in love with her voice without meeting her. She lent her voice to numerous songs and composed her songs."
Das' last rites will be performed at Navagraha Crematorium. She is survived by her husband JP Das, and three children Jinti, Nitin, and Rajeeb.
