Speaking at an intellectual programme at South Point School, Guwahati, Bhagwat said that people should speak their mother tongue inside their houses.

Digital Desk: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday urged people to use their mother tongue to communicate instead of English in every Indian household. He further said everyone should embrace swadeshi practices in their language, attire, food, housing, and travel.

Speaking at an intellectual programme at South Point School, Guwahati, Bhagwat said that people should speak their mother tongue inside their houses. While communicating with each other, if everyone could understand Hindi, then communication should be in Hindi. He also said that speaking a foreign language was not necessary.

However, the RSS chief added that learning a foreign language cannot be an issue, but it should be used when required.

The intellectual event was also attended by Bhupesh Sharma, the Sanghchalak of the Uttar Assam Prant, and Guruprasad Medhi, the Sanghchalak of the Guwahati Mahanagar unit of RSS, along with other Karyakartas of Sangh.

Bhagwat is on a five-day tour to Assam from February 21-25. He will leave for Arunachal Pradesh on February 26.
