Prafulla Prasad Bora died of cardiac arrest at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai at 1 p.m. on April 17th.


Digital Desk: With great sadness, it's been affirmed that the Great author Prafulla Prasad Bora died at the age of 82; as reported, he suffered a cardiac arrest on April 17th at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai at nearly about 1 p.m.


PP Bora's wife, Indira PP Bora, a Padmashree awardee, and daughter Dr. Menaka PP Bora announced the sad demise of their loving Husband/Father, saying it's a great loss for them. 


 Notably, Dr. Menaka PP Bora, as per her father's wish and being the only child, performed the last rites in a private Hindu ceremony at the well-known private cremation ground of Juhu Pawan Hans Crematorium by the Chief Priest Sateish Godhke, who also performed last rites for legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar in Mumbai. 


Prafulla Prasad Bora was the founder and President of Kalabhumi, Former Director of OIL INDIA LIMITED, Film critic and author of "Cinema in Assam," founder of Duliajan Film Society, Music Director, and a great promoter of Sattriya culture from the 1980s onwards at the national and global stage.
