Srinagar: Three terrorists were killed in an encounter on Friday in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama.

Officials said the encounter broke out after militants opened fire at security forces during a cordon and search operation (CASO) launched on the basis of a specific input.

Sources said, “Incriminating materials, including arms and ammunitions, were recovered. A search is going on in the area.”

"An encounter has started at Kakapora area of Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet today.

More details are awaited as this is a developing story.
