New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will communicate with the Tokyo Olympics-bound athletes virtually on July 13 at 5 pm.

The Prime Minister will motivate the athletes before they participate in the masterpiece competition.

"Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi will interact with #Tokyo Olympic bound athletes to motivate them ahead of their participation in the forthcoming Games, which will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021," MyGovIndia posted on its Twitter page.

As per an official report, more than 115 Indian players have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, which will begin on July 23 and operate up to August 8 this year.

The Games were supposed to be held last year. However, the event was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given the enraged COVID-19 cases, the Tokyo Olympics will be handled following a state of emergency in Japan without spectators from July 23 to August 8.
