Tokyo: Indian Men’s Hockey team made it to the quarter-final in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics by beating Olympics champion Argentina by 3-1 in their fourth group A game at Oi Hockey Stadium- North Pitch on Thursday.

Indian team, after scoreless in the first two quarters, it breaks the dead-end in 43rd minutes through Varun Kumar before Vivek Sagar Prasad, and Harmanpreet Singh struck in the last minute of the match to secure their place in the quarter-final.

In the last minute of the quarter, the Indian team were close to double their lead when Argentina goalkeeper Juan Manuel attack saving a nicely worked PC by the Indian team.

Argentina team makes the match draw after Casella stormed the ball past Sreejesh in the fourth quarter of the match.

The draw match turns out to be a winning match for the Indian team after Vivek Sagar Prasad came with an ultimate poacher of a finish and reclaim the lead for the team. Indian team win the match minutes after Harmanpreet Singh came clutch for India from PC and stamped the match for India.

With this, India has won three matches in their group. Moreover, India will be competing with the host team for the final on Friday.
