Digital Desk: A truck plunged into the Brahmaputra river from Kaliabhomora Bridge in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Thursday, which led to the death of one person. 

The incident occurred while the vehicle was travelling from Tezpur to Kaliabor in Nagaon District. 

According to the information received by the police, the truck broke through the bridge’s right side of the railing before falling into the river. 

Additional Superintendent of Police Madhurima Das said, “It seems the truck lost control and fell into the river after breaking the railing on the right side”. 

One body was recovered by the rescue team from the drowned vehicle. 

Investigations are ongoing regarding the unfortunate incident. 

Authorities are yet to reveal the cause of the accident.
