Digital Desk: The United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) has responded to Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh's challenge with a press statement, accepting the dare on the condition that the DGP agrees to two specific terms.

In their official statement issued on Saturday, ULFA-I laid out the conditions, stating, "Firstly, the security cover for GP Singh, including his driver and police officials and constables from the Western Southeast Asia (WeSEA) region, should be replaced with CRPF or Indian Army officers. This is our first condition."

The militant outfit continued, "Secondly, roam freely around Guwahati for just one week," indicating their demand for the DGP to experience the city without the current security measures.

The ULFA-I's press statement also included a warning to GP Singh, urging him not to engage in activities that could harm indigenous officers within the state police. In a defiant tone, the statement concluded with a challenge to the DGP's courage, asserting, "We know that you (GP Singh) do not have the courage to accept our challenge. You can just pick up unarmed youths and hack them to death using your cruel tactics."

Tensions remain high as the Assam DGP has yet to respond to the ULFA-I's conditions and challenges.
