In addition to Covishield and Covaxin, Biological-long-awaited E's Corbevax vaccine has been included to the immunisation campaign for children aged 12 to 14

Digital Desk: According to a recent research, Covishield is more effective when given as a booster after two doses of Covaxin because antibodies increase six-fold; however, this is not the case when the vaccinations are given in reverse order. The report, published to the Drugs Controller General of India on Wednesday by Christian Medical College, Vellore, is the first tentative scientific data from India about combining Covid-19 vaccinations. According to The Indian Express, scientists have concluded that Covaxin is less effective as a booster when used with two doses of Covishield. The IE report quoted a source as saying that when Covaxin is given to those who have previously had two doses of Covishield, the increase in antibodies is "significantly smaller." The data on the neutralising antibody and the T-cell response, on the other hand, is due next week. To improve vaccination numbers, the government has opened prophylactic doses for everyone over the age of 60 and youngsters aged 12 to 17, urging everyone who is eligible to receive the injections. In addition to Covishield and Covaxin, Biological-long-awaited E's Corbevax vaccine has been included to the immunisation campaign for children aged 12 to 14. The government had given Biological-E a Rs 1,500 crore advance for reserving 30 crore vaccine pills for supply, which will be utilised to vaccinate children in the coming days. According to an official, there is also a growing desire for all adults to be given prophylactic dosages, a topic on which the government is debating and may make a decision in a few months following an examination. After a massive increase in Covid-19 cases in China and Southeast Asia, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya convened a high-level conference on Wednesday. Mandaviya requested a high level of alert, active genetic sequencing, and increased monitoring, according to official sources. According to sources, top health officials, including the health secretary, pharma secretary, and the Government of India's main scientific adviser attended the meeting. BFC Banner
