Dehradun: More than 200 people were rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Monday after they were stuck in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District.

Heavy rainfall was predicted and The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had already warned about it in the region from (August 24 to August 28).

Thunderstorms and lightning were also predicted.

Earlier this month 13 people lost their lives in a landslide that occurred in the neighboring state, Himachal Pradesh.
