Biden administration is considering sending an additional $1 billion in new weapons to Israel

Digital Desk: The Biden administration is considering a significant military package for Israel, valued at over $1 billion, which includes tank ammunition, military vehicles, and mortar rounds. This potential arms transfer, amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, could be among the largest for Israel since its military operation in Gaza.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that the Biden administration is considering sending an additional $1 billion in new weapons to Israel. It says, “The Biden administration is exploring more than $1 billion in new arms sales for Israel, including tank ammunition, military vehicles, and mortar rounds, according to US officials, during a period of increased scrutiny of the use of American-made weaponry in the Gaza conflict.”

The US placed further sanctions on Iran on Thursday, targeting its unmanned aerial vehicle production in response to its attack on Israel, and US President Joe Biden stated that G7 leaders were determined to work together to put economic pressure on Tehran.

Britain announced that it would also impose sanctions on Iran in coordination with Washington.

Biden stated that the United States and its allies assisted Israel in repelling the missile and drone strike on April 13 and were now holding Iran accountable through new sanctions and export controls.

The move has sparked discussion and speculation across various platforms, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics in the region.
