Due to the feature's ability to delete a recording before sharing it, users will have more control over their voice recordings.

Digital Desk: According to reports, the messaging app WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has begun to roll out a new "voice status updates" function. This feature, which is now being rolled out in the Android beta, will allow users to record and share audio notes via status. Reportedly, the text status area is where users can use the new feature.

This function is available to beta testers, who can post voice notes as status updates.

Due to the feature's ability to delete a recording before sharing it, users will have more control over their voice recordings.

WhatsApp voice status updates: Recording Time

Users can currently record voice notes for a maximum of 30 seconds, it should be mentioned. To hear voice notes posted via status, users will need to update their WhatsApp version.

Voice notes exchanged on status updates will be end-to-end encrypted, according to the messaging app. This ensures that their listening is limited to the people users specify in their privacy settings.

The voice notes will also vanish after 24 hours, much like uploaded pictures and videos do.

Users will also have the option to erase voice notes for everyone after posting them, much like with other status updates. According to reports, the new capability will gradually be made available to more customers over the next few weeks.
