Digital Desk: A video showed a woman being assaulted, pulled by her hair, and taken out of a Bengaluru temple after claiming to be Lord Venkateshwara's wife and insisting on sitting next to the Lord's statue.

The event occurred on December 21, but just recently came to light after the woman filed a report with the Amruthahalli Police Station.

In the footage, a man is seen pulling the woman by her hair across the temple floor. The man lunges for her dupatta and continues to push her out the temple door while she resists. The woman fights back. At this moment, he begins slapping her before reaching for a rod to thrash her. The video shows the woman being sheltered by another individual.

The accused has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.

According to reports, the woman persisted on sitting next to Lord Venkateshwara's statue in the temple but was denied by the temple priest. According to reports, she spit on the priest.
The temple workers quickly intervened, and the woman was assaulted and thrown out of the temple.

According to locals, the woman is mentally challenged.
