'Koozhangal' is India’s official entry to Oscars 2022

Chennai: Koozhangal – A Tamil movie by debutant director PS Vinothraj, is India’s official entry to Oscars 2022. The film was produced and presented by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s Rowdy Pictures banner. Prodcuer Vignesh Shivan took to social media to share the happy news with everyone.

‘Koozhangal’ won the prestigious Tiger Award at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam this year.

Vignesh Shivan took to Twitter to share the poster of Koozhangal and announced the news. He wrote, "There’s a chance to hear this! “And the Oscars goes to“ Two steps away from a dream come true moment in our lives. #Pebbles #Nayanthara @PsVinothraj @thisisysr @AmudhavanKar @Rowdy_Pictures Can’t be prouder, happier & content (sic)."

Koozhangal explores the relationship between a father, who is a drunkard, and his son. His wife goes back to her parent's house because of her abusive husband. How the father-son duo wins back the trust of the woman forms the rest of the story.
