Digital Desk: 'Adipurush' writer Manoj Muntashir today apologized to the people for hurting their religious sentiments with his controversial dialogues in the film.

Taking to Twitter, Manoj Muntashir wrote in Hindi, "I accept that Adipurush has hurt people's sentiments. I offer my sincere apologies with my hands folded. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and offer us the strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our glorious nation."

His message received mixed reactions from netizens, with many believing that it is now too late to ask for an apology.

"We Never forget Never forgive! I was your fan but unfollowed you the moment you said Hanuman Ji is not Bhagwan but just a Bhakt. Deleted your all songs from my library and unsubscribed you on YouTube too," a social media user commented.

"Badi jaldi Maafi maang liye sahab But thik hai,Der aaye durust aaye," another user wrote. 

"You knew it from day one but you waited for movie to get out from theatres so that you comment doesn’t hurt the BO collection," a user wrote.

'Adipurush,' directed by Om Raut which is based on the epic Ramayana, has received harsh criticism since its release. In the movie, Prabhas plays the role of Lord Ram, Kriti plays the role of Goddess Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana.

Many critics and reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the film's dialogue. 'Marega Bete,' 'Bua Ka Bagicha Hain Kya,' and 'Jalegi Tere Baap Ki' are among the dialogues that have received criticism.

Following such criticism, the writers of 'Adipurush' modified the dialogues.

Amid the controversy, Manoj had demanded protection, fearing a threat to his life. The Mumbai Police have given him security and stated that they are looking into the matter.

The All India Cine Workers Association also wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Mumbai Police, requesting that a case be filed against the film's producer, director, and writer.

In fact, the criticism and controversy surrounding Adipurush propelled the 1987 Ramayan back to the small screen, as dissatisfied audiences compared the film to the famous show.
