Kohima: Known best for his memorable role in comedy-drama film 'Axone', up-coming Naga actor Lanuakum Ao died yesterday due to kidney failure. He was 31 at the time of his death.
Lanuakum was admitted to the CIHSR (Christian Institute of Health Science and Research) at 4th Mile in Dimapur due to ailing health where he passed away. He was earlier admitted to the Ovil hospital from where he was referred to CIHSR.

Hailing from Longsa Village in Nagaland’s Mokokchung district, Ao’s big break came with ‘Axone’, directed by Richard Kharkongkor, which had an interesting premise. (In Delhi, friends from Northeast India prepare a pungent delicacy for a wedding party, sparking conflict and comedy with their unaccustomed neighbors.
Apart from his phenomenal acting in ‘Axone’ as a victim of racial attack, Lanuakum Ao had also acted in ‘NSR: The Jade’ and web series ‘The Last Hour’ (where he starred in a negative role). Ao was to be seen next in a Hindi movie starring Ayushman Khurrana and directed by Anubhav Sinha.
