Finally! Rannvijay Singha Reveals the Reason Behind Not Hosting the New Roadies Season

Digital Desk: MTV Roadies anchor Rannvijay Singha has stepped down after 18 years on the show and was replaced by actor Sonu Sood. In a recent interview, Singha explained why he is not a part of the next season of Roadies. He told ETimes that he has been a part of Roadies since the beginning and that he is the only person who has done it consistently for the past 18 years.

"Me and the channel have worked not only on Roadies but also for about 14-15 shows. It's simply that this is the one I started with, so it's become almost interchangeable. Unfortunately, things are different at my end now due to prior commitments, covid limits, schedule changing, and shooting in South Africa. I'm sorry, but I won't be able to do it this season." Singha said.

"For this season of Roadies, I can't be a part of it. However, the channel and I will collaborate on other major editions. This is the reason, and there's no drama." he added.

He went on to say that the spot was changed to South Africa and that they were originally planning to shoot in December, but that there was a fear of Omicron at that time.

"We know Omicron began in South Africa, where things became tough, and later dates also clashed as well. I never imagined it would grow to such proportions; in fact, the channel and I are currently discussing the magnitude of the situation. This was not something we expected." He said.

Further, Singha stated that he and Sonu Sood are very close and that there can't be a better person to host the show than Sonu Sood.

"To me, he's like an elder brother. We met two months ago and chatted about a wide range of topics. I had a wonderful time with him. It's the nicest thing for Roadies." Rannvijay said.

Rannvijay Singha is best known for anchoring the reality show MTV Roadies and MTV Splitsvilla. He made his Bollywood debut with the 2009 film Toss: A Flip of Destiny. He also appeared in Bollywood films like London Dreams, Action Replayy, and 3 AM. Rannvijay Singha and Sunny Leone co-hosted the television reality show Splitsvilla 13.

In addition, the actor appeared in Zee5's web series Forbidden Love. He also acted in Mismatched, a Netflix original film starring Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf.
