Famed for Indian Idol 12, Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal faced legal action after denying filming and advertising M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd's music album.
Digital Desk: Well-known faces from Indian Idol 12, Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal, have been charged with a crime. That's right; you read that perfectly. The two well-known singers refused to film and promote M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd's music album. M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd sought the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association to advise them that M/s Sony Pictures Network India Private Limited had inked an agreement with them to provide Pawandeep and Arunita's services. Their member signed the two for a romance CD with 20 tracks.
"Sony had pledged to offer services of both the performers and the commitment was made before they became the winners of Indian Idol," according to the agreement.
Their member had announced the album's release at a press conference at significant expenditure, but the artists refused to work with the producer after filming for one song. Despite Sony's pledge, Arunita and then Pawandeep stopped working with the producer on the shoot and the promotion and release of the songs. When Sony was notified, they took no action and instead expressed their support for the artist. When IMPPA asked for their opinions, they declined, claiming that this particular Sony company was not a member of IMPPA, but that other Sony companies were.
They claimed that this company solely works with producers of films, web series, and serials. As a result, IMPPA has demanded that they ensure that the producers are not mistreated and that the artists complete the services they will have performed on behalf of the artist.
Pawandeep and Arunita captivated millions of hearts with their incredible singing abilities and chemistry. Arunita and Pawandeep are now on tour in the United States with Sayli Kamble and Mohammad Danish, performing in various cities.
