Sharma, one of India's most talked-about and beloved comedians, bid us farewell
on television on June 5 as his long-running series "The Kapil Sharma
Show" came to an end. Since its debut in 2016, the comic chat show has
become a staple of every Indian weekend. Kapil as a comedian, host, and
interviewer wore many hats over the course of the show's six years, and his
fans will mourn him as a small-town comedian who made it big.

    Kapil Sharma had already
been deemed a star comedian since he joined The Great Indian Laughter
Challenge, but what made him an overnight star was Comedy Nights With Kapil,
which began in 2013. Following his prominence, his remuneration per episode has
ranged greatly, and he is considered one of India's highest-paid comedians.
