Digital Desk: McDonald's India—North and East has signed actor Kartik Aaryan as its brand ambassador, asserting that the actor's strong connection with the youth will boost the company's portfolio in the region.
Sanjeev Agrawal, the company’s chairman for the region, said, "Kartik Aaryan is a youth star and a prominent name in families, much like we are. We believe that his great connection with audiences, broad appeal, and alluring personality have helped him establish himself as an icon for India's younger generation, which is in line with our core values. We are excited to welcome him to the ‘McFamily’."
"McDonald's has been a part of my childhood. The brand continues to hold a special place in my life, and the name brings back so many pleasant memories from my adolescence. I find it quite enjoyable to be involved with it. I'm thrilled to be a part of the team and am excited to work on interesting, amusing, and fun projects with the company," Aryan added.
The actor will engage people of all ages, particularly Generation Z and millennials, in a variety of venues, the company said in a statement.
Additionally, the company claimed that as part of its brand strategy, it has been changing its menu items and adding new options in accordance to the tastes and preferences of its customers.
Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. operates this region's business, which has 150 stores in north and eastern India, according to the company. It employs around 5,000 workers.
According to Edelweiss research based on Technopak data, India's food services market was valued at $4,236 billion in FY20. The QSR chain market will increase at a 23% CAGR over the next five years, according to the company. This will apply to the entire food service business, not just the chain market.
