Digital Desk: A plea has been filed in the Delhi High Court against Om Raut's film Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, for allegedly offending the sentiments of the Hindu community. The plea claims that the film insulted the Hindu epic "Ramayana."
The petition was filed by Vishnu Gupta, National President of the Hindu Sena. The PIL claims that the film insulted the Hindu community by mocking Ramayana, Lord Rama, and our culture.
The petition requests that the objectionable scenes featuring the Hindu gods Ram, Sita, and Hanuman, as well as Ravana, be removed or rectified. It claims that the depiction of these deities in the film is incorrect and disrespectful.

"The depiction of characters is inconsistent with the description of Hindu religious characters as described in the Ramayana by Maharishi Valmiki and the Ramcharitmanas by Saint Tulsidas," the petition claims.
Moreover, the plea has also raised questions about the character of Ravana which was played by actor Saif Aki Khan in Adipurush. The character's bearded appearance has also been criticised in the petition. It claims that the portrayal has offended Hindus since he is seen making a "ghastly" face.
"Hindu Brahmin Ravana is portrayed making a ghastly face in a wrong manner, which is an ultimate insult to Hindu civilization," the plea read. It further claims that Ravana-related portions in the film are a complete fabrication.
