Hek announced his intention to file a defamation case against individuals and media outlets responsible for maligning the state's reputation without basis
Digital Desk: The arrest of Sonam in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case has made it possible to reveal much of what happened. Still, the incident has provoked widespread anger in Meghalaya, where citizens and leaders are asking everyone to respect the state’s image.
To fight back against the negative discussion, Alexander Laloo Hek, a senior BJP leader in Meghalaya, has strongly rebuked how Meghalaya is being portrayed in this case. Hek revealed his intention to file a defamation case against people and the media responsible for maligning the state’s reputation without basis.
Another person who spoke up on this matter was Deepak Verma, a veteran journalist who said certain national media outlets have spread unreliable news that has made Meghalaya seem bad. Verma stated that it was essential for the media to stay responsible by not making false statements and avoiding questionable reports.
Both leaders have called for a more balanced and fact-based approach in the coverage of the case, underscoring the need to protect the dignity and integrity of Meghalaya and its people.
