Digital Desk: Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput met when she was 20 and still a college student, and he was 34 and a superstar in films. They met in an arranged marriage setup and married in Delhi, although Shahid felt "a little embarrassed" when he first met her. But he soon realized that his stardom did not affect Mira.

In a recent interview with Midday, Shahid revealed the first thing he noticed about Mira. "The first thing I noticed about Mira when we met was that she was only 20 years old, I was 34, and I was a little embarrassed. I was like ok, she's really young. I was happy to meet and connect with anyone. And when I met her, she seemed unaffected by the fact that I was an actor," Shahid said. 

"That was the first thing that I was like, 'Wow, she is all of 20 years old and she is just so normal and she really doesn't care. Because you can tell the difference when you meet people who act as if they don't care but are really impacted," he added.

Shahid had previously spoken to Humans of Bombay about the "schizophrenic reality" he faced when he met Mira. "I was interested in meeting someone with whom I could settle down. My primary concern was that I have a really schizophrenic reality, where one side is all about my acting and beauty and the other is all about spirituality, meditation, and abstaining from alcohol. So I assumed the girl would understand only one of the two. I met Mira at that time," he said.

In the same interview, Shahid stated that Mira has a "strong individual personality" and that she didn't mind that he was an actor. "It wasn't a major factor for her, and I think that's what I want. Normalcy is something I seek. You want to have a normal personal life since you are constantly surrounded by people who see you as a celebrity," he added.

Shahid and Mira tied the knot in 2015. They have two children: a daughter Misha and a son Zain.
