Digital Desk: Lata Mangeshkar left a legacy of super hit songs to remember her, in addition to her extensive collection of worldly belongings. The legendary singer, who died on February 6, had a lavish mansion in South Mumbai. Her opulent residence included a welcoming rectangular balcony with a breathtaking view of Pedder Road. When Lata Mangeshkar was alive, her residence ‘Prabhu Kunj’ used to host several celebrities.
In addition to the lavish mansion, the singer also had a collection of cars. Reportedly, when Lata Mangeshkar began her singing career, she purchased a Chevrolet. Moreover, her collection also includes Buick, a Chrysler, and a Hillman car.
Yash Chopra once gifted Lata Mangeshkar an E-class Mercedes for her work on his film’ Veer Zaara’ as a mark of appreciation. All songs of the film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji were sung by the legendary singer.
Reportedly, Lata Mangeshkar had a great passion for photography and had a huge collection of high-end professional cameras.
After being diagnosed with covid-19 and pneumonia, Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the Breach Candy Hospital in January. She died of multi-organ failure after a roughly month-long stay in the hospital. She was cremated with full state honours in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park grounds. As a mark of respect for the iconic singer, the Indian government has declared two days of state mourning.
